Daily post

Here are some of the Macro shots I was able to get with my phone camera. I have been super sick so it was convenient finding things around the house that had very much detail.

Paul Piorkowski - Daily Post 6

Hello! Keeping in theme with my last daily post about my miniature model katana, I decided to show my full-scale replica katana for today's post. While I was figuring out some angles to take photos at, I touched the tip of the blade to the wall and found that it made an interesting shadow effect from the way light from different sources was hitting it, so I replicated the effect with the sheath as well.

Just a few for fun...the first set are from the aftermath of my morning coffee. The last one is my parent's spoiled dog, Rosie, wearing her fancy coat on a couch with a busy looking print so I put it in B&W.

By the Sea

 By the Sea

A lot of the photos I included are a bit older (the first 4) but I thought they went well with the assignment so I chose to include them. I also chose to include a few (3) distanced photos as I felt the moonlight/sunset reflecting off the water was aesthetic looking. The first 4 were taken on my Canon last summer, and the last 3 on my iPhone 12 sometime recently in various spots in Milford. Beaches and sunsets are generally what I like to photograph the most just because I find it very easy to capture the beauty, so this assignment has definitely been one of my favs thus far.

I started following a macro photography page on Facebook. They post some jaw dropping images, I'd highly recommend checking it out! I saw a few folks post macro pictures of eyes so I wanted to try it, too. Here's my attempt. I love how you can see the trees reflected on the right side/middle of the photo-to the right of the reflection of my eyelashes. I took this selfie with my iphone 15 outside on my deck yesterday afternoon.

My step-daughters modeled for me while I practiced portrait picture taking. We have good light in our living room, so I actually like these photos unedited, but played around a little with some adjustments in Photoshop to see what I could do. Here are my three favorite so far:
