Hello! For today's daily post I decided to show some pics I took of a coin in my coin collection, a 2 cent piece from 1865. I did clean it recently which is why it looks as good as it does, and I know cleaning coins is taboo in the collecting world since it can affect value but I don't care, its never leaving my collection so I want it to look its best. I have 2 edited pics and 2 raw pics.
From JMBullion: "The two-cent piece, generally speaking, is a historically significant coins because it was one of the first new coins to be introduced in the wake of the American Civil War. The 1865 version of the two-cent piece, however, is more sought after than most other dates due to the fact that it was minted in the year which the Civil War was finally brought to a conclusion. This makes the coin valuable amongst collectors and historians alike."
